Women Artists of the DMV: A Survey of the Region’s Artistic Talent

The Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery at the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts is pleased to debut a selection of artworks from Women Artists of the DMV: A Survey of the Region’s Artistic Talent

The Greater Washington, D.C. region (the DMV) boasts world-class art museums, numerous galleries, non-profits, and alternative art spaces, fostering one of the nation’s most vibrant visual art scenes. 

In 2023, local curator and artist Florencio Lennox Campello proposed an exhibition featuring 100–150 works by women artists—both established and emerging—to highlight the talent and diversity of the region’s female creators. With over two years in the making, the Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery is honored to be able to debut this show.
